The MDP project started as a student research in 2011 at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Faculty of Architecture, Department of Mechanics, Materials and Structures (http://www.szt.bme.hu). There had been no comprehensive collection focusing on the detailing before the first website in 2012. In the beginning the website only contained the detail renderings, yet got a lot of positive feedback. We also received a lot of inqueries if we could share the models.
Our current goal became to raise the usability of the CAD models and build a system for sharing their values efficiently. Students and engineers can use the parametric models as well. The scripts can accelerate the conceptual design by giving fast structural content to basic geometries on competitions or university classes. But the main value lies in thier usage during the creation of the very accurate, real production plans.

In case you have a project to accelerate with scripts like these, or you wish to market your products digitally, we can customize further solutions for you. Four point membranes, complete tents, new edge elements or cable products - these can all coded into this flexible system.

We aim to extend the collection to other types of structures as well: ETFE-pillow structures, and furthermore for glass facades, steel roof constructions, etc.
